Development Applications open to public comment for 17 April 2009

Each week, the North Canberra Community Council is sent a weekly summary of all new significant development applications that are also notified in the Canberra Times and on ACTPLA’s website at the following link: http://apps.actpla.act.gov.au/pubnote/index.asp The latest development applications lodged for the North Canberra area and open for comment include:

ACTPLA reviewing provisions – residential mid size blocks (>250m2 to 500m2) in greenfield estates

On the 24th March 2009 at 10:30AM the NCCC received the following email advisory from ACTPLA seeking written comments by 31st March 2009: Dear Sir/ Madam As part of the broader review of the Territory Plan, the ACT Planning and Land Authority (ACTPLA) is also reviewing the provisions for residential mid size blocks (>250m2 to 500m2)in greenfield estates. It is proposed to conduct a workshop in relation to residential mid sized blocks in April- May 2009 with the results to be incorporated into the Territory Plan review later in the year. ACTPLA has announced that Canberrans will have now have access to the latest planning news via a new publication – The Community Zone The ACT Planning and Land Authority Chief Planning Executive Neil Savery said “The Community Zone” would include stories about major planning projects, draft variations to the Territory Plan and helpful tips and information about the planning process.
