ACTPLA has announced that Canberrans will have now have access to the latest planning news via a new publication – The Community Zone
The ACT Planning and Land Authority Chief Planning Executive Neil Savery said “The Community Zone” would include stories about major planning projects, draft variations to the Territory Plan and helpful tips and information about the planning process.
“This publication will add to existing publications and information already provided by ACTPLA, including advertisements and website information, that detail major planning projects and other planning news.
“It’s a great opportunity to bring all the news together, along with helpful tips for consumers such as information about finding licensed tradespeople, or consumer advice on subjects like how the development application process works.”
Mr Savery said the first issue contained a number of important stories including a story about the recently revised Community Engagement Guide that contains information on ACTPLA’s consultation and notification roles.
“Other stories in this inaugural edition include information for homeowners thinking of installing roof insulation as a result of the Australian Government’s Energy Efficient Homes Package and information on draft variations to the Territory Plan.
“One of the great things about Canberra is that we have a population that really cares about what happens across the city, not just in their local area. Canberrans are really passionate about the future of their city and this publication can help keep them in the loop about what’s happening in planning.”
Mr Savery said people who want to subscribe to the electronic newsletter could visit the ACTPLA home page at www.actpla.act.gov.au
