Majura Women's Group: Term 1 – Activity Schedule now available

The Majura Women’s Group (MWG) is a self-run volunteer organisation providing opportunities for women in Canberra at home with young children to meet and participate in stimulating and creative activities. They  operate with assistance from the ACT Government through artsACT, the Office for Children, Youth and Family Support, the Canberra Community Grants Program, and the Community Inclusion Fund (in partnership with Mental Health ACT ) Very low cost high quality childcare is available in the room next to their meeting room. National Multicultural Festival 2010 (5-7 February 2010)

The National Multicultural Festival 2010 opens on Friday, 5 February 2010 in Garema Place with a spectacular Global Concert staring Deni Hines, Melinda Schneider, Paulini and Emma Donovan. In an Australian debut they will present Mura Wakay — a celebration of Australia’s rich culture and song. North Canberra Community Service – KickStart Family Program

More than 80 members of Canberra’s Indigenous community are enjoying a busy schedule of recreational activities during January as they take part in the KickStart Family Program. Northside Community Service (NCS) and ACT Policing have formed a partnership to develop and deliver the program which is aimed at strengthening families and communities, in addition to building rapport between local indigenous communities and police.
