National Capital Authority: Works Approval Application – WA16749 – Block 5 & 6 Section 24 City, Nishi – New Acton – (Closing 18 December 2009)

The following works approval application is currently on public notification. Any comments about the proposed development should be submitted via email works.approval@natcap.gov.au or alternatively in writing to the National Capital Authority at GPO Box 373, Canberra ACT, 2601 by COB Friday 18 December 2009. There will be an information session hosted by the proponents (Molonglo Group) on Wednesday 2 December between 15:00 – 20:00 at 21 Marcus Clarke Street. (National Capital Authority representatives will be in attendance from 15:00-17:00) The planning report, plans and other supporting documentation prepared by the applicant can be downloaded for viewing below.

Follow Up: National Capital Authority Public Forum

The National Capital Authority have put up a web page with a series of documents that were presented at their Public Forum that was held on 26 November 2009. The National Capital Authority is also encouraging the public to complete an evaluation of the forum and provide feedback and ask questions about material that may not have been adequately covered at the event. Canberra Times: NCA faces roasting over ASIO HQ

Tonight, 26 November 2009 the National Capital Authority will hold a public forum (at Parliament House) to provide an opportunity to begin a continuing dialogue about planning in Canberra and ensuring Canberra’s “place” as the national capital. The Canberra Times is reporting that despite the issuing of a formal order of proceedings, the ASIO building is likely to be the main topic of discussion at the meeting with many angry Campbell residents intenting to demand answers from the NCA about its overall involvement in the project. Reminder – Public Forum: National Capital Authority (26 November 2009)

On 26 November 2009 the NCA will hold a public forum to provide opportunity to begin a continuing dialogue about planning in Canberra, and ensuring Canberra’s ‘place’ as the national capital. The event will take place at Parliament House commencing at 6pm. The length of the forum will vary according to the level of interest, but it is expected to finish between 9pm and 10pm. Monash Drive to be removed from the National Capital Plan

Multiple local news sources are reporting that the National Capital Authority is expected to announce that Monash Drive will be taken off the National Capital Plan. If removal was recommended by the NCA there would be a period of public consultation before the removal is officially gazetted.
