Crimestoppers: Witnesses sought to early morning assault, Civic (10 January 2010)

Crimestoppers logoACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an assault on a 20-year-old man in the vicinity of Uni Lodge, Childers Street, Civic in the early hours of Sunday morning (10 January).

About 3.45pm the male victim was allegedly chased by three male offenders, punched to the ground and kicked several times to the face and ribs. Subsequently the male victim was conveyed to hospital with his injuries.

Police believe an altercation may have taken place earlier in the evening between the victim and the alleged offenders at the Meche Nightclub, Northbourne Ave, Civic.

The first male offender is described as Asian in appearance, approximately 170cm (5’7”), with an athletic build, dyed yellow/orange shoulder length hair and was cleanly shaven. He was wearing dark coloured jeans and a T-shirt with black and white lines vertically across the front.

The second male offender is described as Asian in appearance, with a solid build, dyed brown ear length hair and was cleanly shaven. He was wearing a white T-shirt.

The third male offender is described as Asian in appearance, in his 30s, approximately 160cm (5’3”), with a muscular build and brown short length hair.

It is believed the three male offenders possibly fled the scene in a blue Mazda RX-7.

Police are urging any witnesses who may have witnessed the assault on Childers Street, or saw the blue Mazda RX-7 in the area at the time of the assault, or has any other information which could assist the police investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or report via the Crime Stoppers website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au
