Crimestoppers: Police seek witnesses to callous assault – Braddon (08 September 2009)

Crimestoppers logoACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a callous assault and robbery in Braddon on Tuesday night (September 8) which has left a 50-year-old man with fractures to his nose and eye socket.

Two females harassed the victim for money about 10.45pm whilst he was attempting to use a public telephone box on Ainslie Avenue, near Allawah Court. He was then hit on the back of the head and knocked to the ground by a male, who along with a second man proceeded to kick and punch him.

The offenders made off in the direction of Allawah Court with a small amount of cash.

The two men are described as about 20 years old and of Aboriginal appearance, both with a skinny build.

One of the female offenders is described as Aboriginal in appearance and about 18 years of age, with shoulder length faded bleached dark hair. The second female is about 20 years old and of Aboriginal appearance, with a skinny build.

Police are urging anyone with any information about this incident or the offenders involved to contact Crime Stoppers.
