ACTPLA has engaged external consultants Purdon Associates to manage the Dickson Centre Planning Project. The study will guide future urban planning in the Dickson centre. It will include consultation with the community, community groups, business representatives and other stakeholders to develop a vision for the future of centre. The public are invited to attend a community information session at the Dickson shops on Tuesday 25 August 2009 (any time between 4.00pm and 7.00pm). Correspondence Out: Roads ACT – Antill Street Traffic Issues (21 August 2009)

The North Canberra Community Council recently wrote to the Director of Roads ACT, Mr Tony Gill, following up from issues raised at the 19 August 2009 meeting of the Council. The correspondence highlights certain safety issues with Antill Street Watson. The North Canberra Community Council is concerned with current levels of traffic on Antill Street, and road safety on Antill Street as all previous traffic predictions have underestimated future levels of traffic using Antill Street. Invitation to comment: Lyneham Sports Precinct Master Plan (closing 11 September 2009)

The ACT Department of the Territories and Municipal Services (Sports and Recreation Services Section) is inviting Canberrans to comment on the future of the Lyneham Sports Precinct revised Master Plan. This revised Master Plan includes: covering the storm water drain that currently divides the area to make the usable area larger and more connected better access through an internal road network, including major entry points more parking and better traffic management which will be important on major event days.
