Legislative Assembly: Discussion Paper to Seek Feedback on Higher Density Residential Development Policies

Today the Standing Committee on Planning, Public Works and Territory and Municipal Services released a Discussion Paper on existing residential redevelopment policies in inner north Canberra. The Discussion Paper aims to inform submissions to the Committee’s current inquiry into RZ3 (Urban) and RZ4 (Medium Density) residential redevelopment policies. Community forums on ACT tree management and urban forest renewal (11 & 15 February 2010)

Community members are invited to take part in the Investigation into the Government’s tree management practices and the renewal of Canberra’s urban forest by attending a community forum with the Commissioner to discuss issues of tree management in the ACT on: 6-8.30pm, Thursday 11th February 2010 at Ainslie Football Club, 52 Wakefield Ave, Ainslie; or 6-8.30pm, Monday 15th February 2010 in the Bradman Room at Manuka Oval, Canberra Ave, Manuka.

Reminder: Assembly Inquiry in to RZ3 and RZ4 Residential Development Policies (closing 30 January 2010)

In September 2009 the Standing Committee on Planning, Public Works and Territory and Municipal Services extended the closing date for submissions to the Inquiry into Inner North Residential Redevelopment Policies. The closing date for submissions is  30 January 2010.

Invitation to comment: The ACT Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Strategy 2010–2014 (closing 28 February 2010)

The ACT Government has commenced a phase of community consultation to further the development of the draft ACT Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Strategy 2010-2014 the ACT’s next Drug Strategy and is currently seeking community input and comment.

Invitation to comment: Codification of Change of Use Charge (closing 16 December 2009)

In the 2009-10 Budget, the ACT Government agreed to the codification of the Change of Use Charge system in the Territory. The local consultant Macroeconomics has been engaged to undertake this project.  The consultant team will be led by Professor Des Nicholls of the Australian National University. Public consultation has commenced on the proposed codification process.  A discussion paper outlining the proposed framework, approach and methodology for codification has been prepared by the consultants. Feedback Received: Lyneham Sports Precinct Master Plan

The ACT Department of the Territories and Municipal Services (Sports and Recreation Services Section) invited Canberrans to comment on the future of the Lyneham Sports Precinct revised Master Plan. CBRE Town Planning was engaged by TAMS to evaluate submissions from the public and the response to the Canberra Pedestrian Forum and Pedal power has been reproduced below:
