Public housing tenant nominations sought for Joint Champions Group (closing 26 June 2009)

Housing ACT tenants are encouraged to apply to apply for membership of the 2009-11 Joint Champions Group. The Joint Champions Group, established in 2005, provides tenants with an opportunity to take part in and manage activities that contribute to the planning and delivery of housing services in the ACT.

ACT Government Swine Flu precautionary measures – 24 May 2009

The ACT Government has decided, as a precautionary measure, to exclude from school for seven days, any student who has returned to Canberra after travel to Mexico, USA, Canada, Japan or Panama. During these seven days, the student should stay home whether or not they have flu symptoms. This is because a person infected with influenza can spread the virus a whole day before they start to feel unwell During the seven days that a student is excluded from school, it should be recommended that they do not attend after-school activities, community events, sporting events or training, public entertainment facilities, …

North Canberra Community Council Meeting Wednesday, 17 June 2009, 19:30 ACT Sports House 100 Maitland Street, Hackett The North Canberra Community Council (NCCC) is the umbrella organization for Resident Associations and Community Groups in North Canberra. The NCCC is the one-stop-shop for Government and the community to communicate. The NCCC is run by volunteers and membership is free. As a resident of North Canberra you are invited to become a member and participate in committee meetings. Grants of up to $5,000 available under the 2009 Schools as Communities program

The ACT Minister for Children and Youth, has announced that grants of up to $5,000 are available under the 2009 Schools as Communities program Strategic Projects. Schools as Communities is an ACT Government program that works in identified ACT preschools and primary schools to support children, their families and teachers.
