Bid to store fuel at ASIO site

ASIO is seeking approval to store more than half a million litres of fuel at its new $589 million headquarters in Canberra a street away from family homes. In an application to the ACT Environmental Protection Authority, the spy agency says it wants 660,000 litres of diesel stored on the Constitution Avenue site to run back-up generators. Design options workshop session – Campbell Section 5 Master Plan Project

The Land Development Agency (LDA) invites residents, business owners and community groups from Campbell to have their say on the future of Campbell Section 5. Campbell Section 5 is ACT Government owned land located on the northern edge of Constitution Avenue and east of Anzac Parade. Consultation is ongoing, and the LDA is working with the local community to design a master plan for the future of the site.

Community drop-in information session – Campbell Section 5 Master Plan Project

The Land Development Agency (LDA) invites the residents, business owners and community groups of Campbell to attend a community drop-in information session regarding the development of the Campbell Section 5 Master Plan. The LDA will develop a detailed plan of subdivision and construct the streets and a new park as part of the realisation of the Griffin Legacy proposal for Constitution Avenue. Campbell Section 5 is the vacant parcel of land located on the northern edge of Constitution Avenue and east of ANZAC Parade and is bound by Creswell Street and Chowne Street.

Senator Humphries statement regarding ASIO building

In July 2009 the North Canberra Community Council approached Senator for the ACT Gary Humphries for direct comment in response to the following article that was published on the NCCC website: ABC News: New ASIO HQ branded ‘barbed wire city’ Senator Humphries replied to the original NCCC email request indicating that he would be making further statements in the next few days.
