Crimestoppers: Witnesses sought to attempted robbery Alinga Street, City (4 June 2009)

Crimestoppers logoACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery of a business on Alinga Street, City June 4.

About 4.50pm a male offender entered the Cash Stop Financial Services store and pushed a bag under a barrier before threatening a female staff member with what she believed to be a firearm and demanded money.

The female refused, believing the firearm to be a replica. The offender then fled the store in the direction of Garema Place.

The male offender is described as being aged in his mid-twenties, between 5’8″ (173cm) and 6′ (183cm) tall, of Caucasian appearance with tanned skin, of skinny to medium build, with brown-coloured facial hair, he was wearing a black hooded jumper.

Police attended the scene shortly after and conducted a search of the area however were unable to located any suspicious persons.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious persons in the area, around the time of the offence or who know the identity of the offender to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
