Crimestoppers: Pedestrian dies after struck by car on Parkes Way, Russell (15 October 2009)

Crimestoppers logoACT Policing is investigating the death of a male pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on Parkes Way at 8.11pm tonight (Thursday, October 15).

Although investigations are at an early stage police believe the pedestrian, believed to be a 42-year-old man from Griffith, had stepped from the road verge on the southern carriageway of Parkes Way, where he was then struck by a Nissan Pulsar sedan travelling west (city-bound).

At this time, police believe that neither speed nor alcohol were contributing factors in the driver’s involvement.

It was the 12th road death in the ACT this calendar year.
