The ACT Government has launched a new web initiative “Community Engagement Online“. It appears that the ACT Government has recognized the value that the North Canberra Community website has been providing to the local community over the last eight months. We have consistently provided a “single online source” where individuals can find consolidated and relevant information pertinent to the North Canberra district. North Canberra Community Council Meeting Wednesday, 16 September, 19:30 ACT Sports House 100 Maitland Street, Hackett Guest speakers: Edwina Richardson, Urban Waterways Coordinator will discuss three urban wetland developments in the Inner North at Banksia St, O’Connor (construction commences late 2009); at Dickson; and at Lyneham Caroline Le Couteur MLA, ACT Greens, Member for Molonglo will discuss the Hot Water Bill recently passed by the ACT Legislative Assembly. The Friends of Mount Majura are inviting the community to join local botanist Michael Doherty for a walk through various types of woodland and discover the range of tree species growing on Mount Majura.
The next meeting of the Hackett Community Association will occur on Tuesday 18 August 2009, 7:30pm at ACT Sports House, 100 Maitland Street, Hackett. A key item for discussion at the upcoming meeting on the 18 August will be the response from ACT Roads to questions about traffic in Hackett
