Canberra Cat Fix is an independent community project which is raising money to assist low income families with the cost of desexing their cat. The rising cost of living and the high cost of veterinary work is resulting in more and more unwanted kittens. Local animal shelters are overcapacity and financially depleted. Desexed cats are also far less likely to roam which in turn will help protect our beautiful native wildlife. The more money raised, the more cats that can be desex. The Master plan has been developed using urban design and planning principles to provide a vision for Grevillea Park as a recreational hub for community use. The National Capital Authority, which is responsible for the management of Lake Burley Griffin, supports the development of water-based recreational facilities at Grevillea Park.
