ACT Policing is investigating the theft of a backhoe from the Transport Industries Skill Centre (TISC), Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) site on Sutton Road, Piallago, ACT.
The site was broken into between 3:30pm on Tuesday 15 June and 7am on Wednesday 16 June. Keys to the backhoe were stolen from within one of the site offices, which was also damaged by the offender/s forcing entry. It is believed that the offender/s drove the backhoe through a gate in order to remove it from the site.
The backhoe is a yellow Ford 655D, which estimated value is approximately $40,000. The backhoe had CIT stickers affixed to it at the time it was stolen. There are no registration plates.
