Crimestoppers: Police investigating Civic armed robbery – City (22 July 2009)

Crimestoppers logoACT Policing is currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Ticketek outlet on Akuna Street in Civic earlier this afternoon (July 22).

Around 1.20pm the man entered the premises and passed a note to the attendant, demanding money whilst threatening her that he had a gun. He then fled the store after an amount of cash was passed to him. The staff member did not see the gun, and was not injured during the incident.

The man is described as about 20-30 years of age with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a dark coloured cap with writing on it, a dark coloured waterproof jacket with a light coloured shirt underneath and light coloured pants and was carrying a grey plastic shopping bag.

The man was last seen walking towards London Circuit, and was thought to have been loitering in the vicinity of the Ticketek outlet for a number of minutes before entering.

Members of AFP Forensic Services are currently examining the scene, whilst members of the Territory Investigations Group have taken carriage of the investigation.

Anyone who may know the identity of this male or who may have been in or around the Ticketek outlet just prior to 1.20pm and remember seeing a suspicious man is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
