Information Session: Cooyong Street Urban Renewal Proposal

An information session has been organised by Environment and Sustainable Development Directorate (ESDD) for interested parties on the Cooyong Street Urban Renewal Proposal. The session will be held on 9 February 2012 between 4 to 6.30pm at Boomerang Room of Currong Apartments. You may wish to attend if you have further questions regarding the proposal.

Development of Land in Braddon and Reid Community Information Session

The Community Services Directorate (CSD) would like to invite interested members of the community to an information session on the development of land in Braddon and Reid on 16 December 2011. The land in Braddon is occupied by Currong Apartments, Allawah Court and buildings owned by the Catholic Church. The land in Reid is occupied by Bega Court.

Cooyong Street Urban Renewal Precinct: proposed planning changes to land fronting Cooyong Street between Donaldson Street and Boolee Street in Braddon and Reid

The community is invited to comment on a proposal to vary the Territory Plan for the Cooyong Street Urban Renewal Precinct (draft variation 308). The area is currently occupied by the Allawah, Bega and Currong Flats and various church uses. The draft variation proposes to change the zoning and introduce a precinct code which would allow high density residential and mixed-use redevelopment of the site with some retail, community and office space.

Information Session: An easier path to home ownership for public housing tenants (17/18 May 2010)

Public housing tenants can now apply to purchase their existing home under the ACT Government’s new‘ Shared Equity Scheme’. One of Australia’s largest building societies IMB Limited will provide first mortgage finance to tenants purchasing their properties under the scheme. Tenants who are unable to afford to buy the full value of their home can buy a percentage of it. Housing ACT will retain the remaining percentage until it is also purchased by the tenant.
