ACT Parks Conservation and Land staff have advised the convener of the Friends of Mt Majura that that old construction material containing bonded asbestos was discovered on Mount Majura in a gully behind Mackenzie Street.
Individuals should notify Canberra Connect on 13 22 81 if they see any dumped construction material on public land including the nature reserves that may contain asbestos. Canberra Connect will collect relevant information and pass it on to the appropriate authority. Individuals with access to a GPS should record the coordinates. For health and safety reasons it is important that individuals DO NOT take samples of the material nor disturb the site.
