WIN News: Turner Primary School

On Thursday 2nd July 2009, WIN News ran two stories about Turner Primary School.

Revolution Built:

Turner School is the first school in the ACT to complete its National School Pride Scheme project. The project was originally allocated $200,000 but has come in considerable under budget. The ACT Education Minister indicating that surplus funds should be allocated to other projects at the school.

Future Designs:

Also at the Turner School, year 5 & 6 students have been involved in a project to plan and create their own new suburbs. ACTPLA has been involved in the project and hopes that it will help foster better understanding of community involvement and consultation processes. Examples of the students work will be available for viewing at the ACTPLA customer service centre in Dickson for the next week.
