ACTPLA Media Release: ACTPLA rolls out the first changes from review of Territory Plan

The following media release was issued by ACTPLA on 07 May 2010. The media release  and Planning and Development (Draft Variation No. 302) Consultation Notice 2010 has been reproduced below. The North Canberra Community Council is concerned that Draft Variation 302 may have a detrimental impact and serious ramifications for ‘disused’ old school grounds and the council encourages the community to analyse the impact of the Draft Variation and provide appropriate comment by the cut off date of Tuesday 22 June 2010.

Legislative Assembly: Discussion Paper to Seek Feedback on Higher Density Residential Development Policies

Today the Standing Committee on Planning, Public Works and Territory and Municipal Services released a Discussion Paper on existing residential redevelopment policies in inner north Canberra. The Discussion Paper aims to inform submissions to the Committee’s current inquiry into RZ3 (Urban) and RZ4 (Medium Density) residential redevelopment policies. Revised Closing Date: Assembly Inquiry in to RZ3 and RZ4 Residential Development Policies (closing 26 February 2010)

In September 2009 the Standing Committee on Planning, Public Works and Territory and Municipal Services extended the closing date for submissions to the Inquiry into Inner North Residential Redevelopment Policies. The revised closing date for submissions is 26 February 2010 . The Committee has been preparing an Issues Paper which will be released shortly to assist individuals and organisations to understand the current Territory Plan provisions around RZ3 and RZ4 zones and other residential development policies related to this inquiry, which may also assist the drafting of submissions.

Invitation to Comment: ACTPLA – Territory Plan Review – testing of Residential Codes structure (closing 4 December 2009)

The North Canberra Community Council, as a participant in the ACT Government coordinated Planning and Development Forum, was sent the following correspondence (below) from ACTPLA. The document seeks feedback on proposed changes to the Residential Code structures for the Territory Plan. The NCCC is encouraging members of the community to provide comments and feedback that can be incorprated in a submission by leaving public comments below or alternatively send your comments (in confidence) to the council via our Contact Us page.

Invitation to comment: Inquiry Into RZ3 and RZ4 Residential Development Policies (closing 16 October 2009)

The Standing Committee on Planning, Public Works and Territory and Municipal Services invites interested individuals and organisations to prepare a submission to an inquiry into RZ3 and RZ4 residential development policies – Inner North Canberrat. The Committee will be evaluating issues related to the RZ3 (Urban) and RZ4 (Medium Density) residential redevelopment policies applying in north Canberra along the major transport corridor of Northbourne Avenue and surrounding areas.
