Temporary closure of a section of Mount Ainslie Nature Reserve (Hackett Transfer Station)

Director of Parks, Conservation and Lands (PCL), Russell Watkinson today informed Canberrans that the old tip site area (Hackett Transfer Station) within the Mt Ainslie Nature Reserve will be closed temporarily from today, Tuesday 24 March 2009, due to remedial works. “PCL has been made aware of environmental contamination on the old tip site within the Mt Ainslie Nature reserve. The five hectare site is approximately 400 metres east of the Phillip Avenue and Kellaway Street intersection in Hackett.
