Public Forum: Theatre in the ACT Strategic Directions Statement 2010-2013 (23 March 2010)

An information forum on the Theatre in the ACT Strategic Directions Statement 2010- 2013 will be held at 6.00pm on Tuesday 23 March at The Street Theatre. Members of the Theatre Working Group will be in attendance to discuss the development of the Statement and what it means for the theatre sector and the ACT community. RSVP to artsACT on 6207 2384. Invitation to Comment and Public Forums: Review of the Arts in Canberra

The ACT Government, along with consultants Peter Loxton and Associates Pty Ltd,  would like to invite the community to share their thoughts and views on the arts in the ACT through a survey and public forums. Your comments will contribute to the development of the new arts policy  for the ACT, due to be released in June 2010. An online survey is available at www.arts.act.gov.au. Consultation: Review of the Arts in Canberra (until March 2010)

Funding was provided in the 2008-09 Budget for a review of the arts in Canberra as Arts Canberra, the ACT Government’s current action statement for the arts, expired at the end of 2008. The review will be conducted by independent consultants Peter Loxton and Associates Pty Ltd and will include research into best-practice arts policy from around Australia and overseas, as well as working with the local ACT arts community to look at the success of the current policy and its implementation to date.
