Free travel on ACTION buses for seniors (22-26 March 2010)

ACTION is providing free Off-Peak travel for holders of an ACT Seniors Card during Senior’s Week from Monday 22 March to Friday 26 March 2010. Off-Peak is any time (weekday) between 9.00am and 4.30pm and again after 6.00pm. Canberrans 75 years or older are also entitled to free travel on ACTION buses at any time using an ACTION Gold Card. ACTION Buses, every 15 minutes – REDEX Trial services commences 16 November 2009

The ACT Government’s trial of a new, high frequency weekday bus service, REDEX, commences Monday 16 November. REDEX buses run every 15 minutes from 7.00am and 7.00pm between the Gungahlin Market Place and Canberra Railway Station in Kingston, via Mitchell, Northbourne Avenue, the City, Russell and Barton. All REDEX buses are low-emission, wheelchair accessible and provide bike racks and on-bus information screens. Travel on REDEX buses is free for the first week between 9.00am and 4.30pm to encourage commuters to use the service in off-peak periods.
