ACT Policing is investigating an incident on the school grounds of Lyneham High School overnight.
Two sheep which were part of the school’s agricultural program were attacked between midnight and 8am (May 22) before they were found by staff at the school.
The offender/s climbed a 6’ (183 cm), security-fenced paddock to access the animals, before stabbing them with an unknown object.
One sheep received five stab wounds and died at the scene; the second sheep was stabbed twice and was put down this morning by an attending veterinarian.
AFP Forensic Services attended and analysed the scene for evidence.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have information which can assist in identifying the perpetrators of this cruel act, to contact Crime Stoppers.
