The ACT Government has recently launched a major discussion paper in the energy sector – the proposal to expand the electricity Feed-In Tariff Scheme. The Feed-In Tariff discussion paper deals with a possible expansion to include installations beyond the existing capacity limit of 30kW. Among the issues outlined in the paper are how an expanded tariff would help reduce the ACT’s greenhouse gas emissions, its effect on the creation of jobs in the clean economy and how it would impact electricity bills. An incident in which a woman was struck by a vehicle outside a nightclub in Civic early today (Sunday, February 21) has prompted ACT Policing to warn pedestrians of the dangers of failing to use appropriate care and attention when crossing a roadway.
ACT Policing has released several images of suspected offenders sought over the assault and robbery of a taxi driver on Parkes Way early on Friday morning (February 19). The suspects shown in the images were in a group of four picked up from the Alinga Street taxi rank around 3.15am on February 19. The taxi stopped westbound on Parkes Way around 3.20am where the suspects were accused of stealing the driver’s mobile phones and passport. The driver has confronted the men about the theft and has then been assaulted by them. The first suspect is described as a Caucasian male, …
ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a series of incidents around Acton and the Australian National University campus last night (Thursday, February 18) and early this morning (Friday, February 19) in which a group of men damaged and broke into vehicles, and committed several assaults.
