Changes to Parking Rules – effective 15 March 2010

Following updates to the Australian Road Rules, some changes have been made to parking rules in the ACT, effective 15 March 2010. Traffic rule changes have also been implemented. The parking changes relate to: stopping a vehicle on a painted island; parking in time limited areas; parking in a Road Related Area; and parking in marked bays. Crimestoppers: Police investigating incident in Turner (07 March 2010)

ACT Policing is currently investigating an incident in Condamine Street, Turner that occurred early this morning (7 March). Around 12.50am, police responded after receiving reports that two males had been stabbed following a fight at the location. ACT Ambulance Service treated three males at the scene before transporting them to the Canberra Hospital.

ACT Policing: Pedestrians urged to take care after woman struck by vehicle in Civic (Sunday 21 February 2010)

An incident in which a woman was struck by a vehicle outside a nightclub in Civic early today (Sunday, February 21) has prompted ACT Policing to warn pedestrians of the dangers of failing to use appropriate care and attention when crossing a roadway.

Crimestoppers: Images released of suspects in taxi driver assault (19 February 2010)

ACT Policing has released several images of suspected offenders sought over the assault and robbery of a taxi driver on Parkes Way early on Friday morning (February 19). The suspects shown in the images were in a group of four picked up from the Alinga Street taxi rank around 3.15am on February 19. The taxi stopped westbound on Parkes Way around 3.20am where the suspects were accused of stealing the driver’s mobile phones and passport. The driver has confronted the men about the theft and has then been assaulted by them. The first suspect is described as a Caucasian male, …
