Crimestoppers: Missing man – Lake Burley Griffin (30 August 2009)

At approximately 12.40 pm this Sunday August 30, a 30-year-old Canberra man was reported missing after last being seen on a surf-ski on Lake Burley Griffin between Springbank Island and Black Mountain Peninsula. An extensive search utilising ACT Policing resources and ACT Ambulance Southcare is currently being conducted in the area to locate the man.

Crimestoppers: Police seek witnesses to unprovoked attack – Civic (28 August 2009)

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an unprovoked attack on a 20-year-old man in Civic August 28, 2009. About 2.40am, police conducting foot patrols on East Row, Civic observed three males attack the male victim while he was seated on the roadside curb. The alleged offenders are unknown to the victim.

The ACT Government is seeking feedback on the operation of the ACT Human Rights Act 2004. The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking submissions from individuals and interested organisations on the recommendations made by the independent ACT Human Rights Act Research Project (ACTHRA). AFP Professional Standards is investigating the discharge of a police firearm by an officer during an incident involving the attempted interception of a stolen car on Northbourne Avenue July 31, 2009 around 5pm.

Crimestoppers: Witnesses sought to nightclub assault – Civic (31 July 2009)

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an assault which occurred at the Mooseheads Pub and Nightclub in Civic July 31. Around 1am police found a 23-year-old Jerrabomberra man in Verity Lane, Civic receiving first aid treatment from the venue’s security staff. It was established the man had been upstairs, inside the nightclub, when he was struck to the left side of his head with a broken glass.
