Cotter Dam Development Application: Public Drop-in Session in North Canberra (21 July 2009)

ACTEW will be holding the several public drop-in sessions, where members of the community are welcome to ask questions and provide feedback regarding the Enlarged Cotter Dam Development Application (DA), which was lodged on 3 July 2009. The DA provides information on the works associated with the construction of the new dam including the main dam, two saddle dams, a quarry, earthworks, signage, lighting, fencing and rehabilitation. The DA will be on public display for community discussion from Monday 13 July to Friday 31 July 2009. Community information sessions will be held by ACTEW as follows:

Cotter Dam enlargement development notified (11 July 2009)

Chief Planning Executive Neil Savery said the application was notified in the Canberra Times, with application details available on the ACT Planning and Land Authority (ACTPLA) website.

Public information session regarding the Majura Parkway EIS (8 July 2009)

A public information session on the Majura Parkway Environmental Impact Study (EIS) will be held Wednesday, 8 July 2009 at the Dame Pattie Menzies House in Dickson from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. The ACT Government has extended the public consultation period on the draft EIS by two weeks until 13 July 2009. Anyone with questions about the EIS or this significant infrastructure project is invited to attend the information session. Representatives from Roads ACT will be available to answer any questions and to explain this major infrastructure project.

NCCC Media Release 22 June 2009 The Chair of the North Canberra Community Council (NCCC), Jochen Zeil, has called for more information on the proposed Majura Parkway Realignment and a public information meeting on the new road.
