We will have three presentations by YWCA about the future use of 11 Rutherford Crescent Ainslie for the YHomes project with the aim of providing affordable, appropriate and secure homes for women of modest income to live independently; by ACT Health about the Dickson (Inner North) Walk in Centre/Community Health Centre project; and by Stephanie Booker, Environment Defenders Office, ACT on the need for Community input to the Review of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (EPBC).

Committee Meeting – 19 Feb 20

On 19 February 2020, the full committee of the North Canberra Community Council will meet for the first time under its new constitution, which stipulates an alternation of monthly General or Council Meetings and Public Meetings with presentations. This first meeting will deal with Machinery of Governance matters and brief presentations of issues, concerns and plans by the representatives of individual residents’ and community associations across North Canberra. Members of NCCC are welcome to attend this meeting.

Survey – Dickson swimming pool forecourt upgrade

Temporary improvements to the Dickson Pool forecourt will help you enjoy this space more this summer. If you’ve come along to have a look at these improvements please take the ACT Government’s 2 minute survey so they know how you feel the new space is working and what else they could consider. Your feedback will inform a detailed design for other upgrades in the future. The upgrades follow engagement with the community, which told the ACT Government the upgrades were one of their top priorities and suggested how this space could be improved.  The improvements include new landscaping, shade, seating, bike …
