Crimestoppers: Witnesses sought – Two face court after clothing store smash and steal, Civic

Two people will face court today (Tuesday, February 2) after they were arrested by ACT Policing following an incident early yesterday (Monday, February 1) in which the glass window of a Civic clothing store was smashed and items stolen.

The aggravated burglary occurred around 12.07am yesterday (Feb 1). Police were contacted by Canberra Centre security shortly afterward and attended.

Police viewed CCTV footage of the incident and identified a male and a female.

As a result, a Section 194 Crimes Act search warrant was obtained and executed on a flat in Braddon around 5pm yesterday.

Police arrested two people in the flat and seized a number of items as evidence from the premises including clothing, sunglasses, and handbags.

A 17-year-old female will appear in the ACT Childrens Court and a 19-year-old male will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court, both charged with aggravated burglary.
