Crimestoppers: Witnesses sought after City robbery – Civic (15 November 2009)

Crimestoppers logoACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery outside the Canberra Centre on City Walk, Civic on Sunday night November 15, which resulted in a man being conveyed to hospital for treatment.

About 11pm the male victim was walking along City Walk towards Akuna Street when he was attacked from behind by two unknown male offenders. During the unprovoked attack the victim’s mobile telephone and wallet have been stolen. The offenders have run from the scene leaving the victim on the ground with facial injuries.

The two offenders have been described as being of Pacific Islander appearance and both with very solid builds. It is reported that the offenders were possibly wearing denim jeans and football style jumpers.

ACT Policing conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area with no persons sighted matching the description provided by the victim.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen suspicious persons, such as that described, or suspicious activity in the area of the Canberra Centre on Sunday night to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
