Consultation on proposed “Kamberra On Federal” development.

Consultation on proposed “Kamberra On Federal” development.

kambFed-LOGO-basic-01_v01-retina-INVElvin Group and Hindmarsh have scheduled community meetings on this development on Wednesday 28 October, Tuesday 10 November and Wednesday 25 November, 5.30-7.30pm at the Kamberra Function Centre, 595 Northbourne Avenue Lyneham.

Light refreshments will be provided. You are encouraged to attend all three meetings to help shape the design as the concept evolves.

If you are able to attend, please email Tania Parkes at kamberraonfederal@taniaparkes.com.au or telephone her on 1800 172 173, with names and contact details of those attending, and if they have any dietary requirements or mobility needs with which we can assist.

Here is what the developers say:

The Kamberra site (block 8 section 69 and block 18 section 71 Lyneham), owned by the Elvin Group, is a 12.5 hectare site located at the Federal Highway entrance to Canberra, opposite EPIC.  It currently hosts the Kamberra Function Centre and the Palliative Care ACT Tom Elvin Centre which is a public education facility.

Kamberra on Federal is a joint venture between the Elvin Group and Hindmarsh, both proud Canberra firms with local interests at heart and a vision for sustainable development. The proposed plans for Kamberra on Federal will retain the palliative care facility and investigate opportunities to enhance health and well being services on the site.

The Kamberra on Federal design team is still in the early stages of developing a concept but our initial thoughts for a viable project are that Kamberra on Federal will be predominantly residential with potential for village shopping and services providing amenity for residents and the local community.  There may also be opportunities to have convenience shopping, hospitality and community uses for potential future light rail commuters and even a hotel given its location at the entry to Canberra.

A postcard has been distributed to local residents and businesses, and there is more information on the Kamberra on Federal website at www.kamberraonfederal.com.au.

The Elvin Group and Hindmarsh invite you to hear our early ideas and are keen to know of your particularly interests or local knowledge that you think we should keep in mind as the concept evolves  so that Kamberra on Federal becomes part of the north Canberra community.
