Crimestoppers: Witnesses sought to weekend aggravated robberies (19 June 2010)

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to four aggravated robberies that occurred over the weekend, with two occurring in Dickson, one in Red Hill and one in Woden. About 1.25am on Saturday 19 June, four males were walking along Antill Street, Dickson, when they were approached by five males. As the four males attempted to walk through the group an assault has occurred. One of the victims has had his backpack taken from him by two of the offenders and a wallet was stolen from another victim.

ACT Policing has released several images of suspected offenders sought over the assault of a taxi driver on Cape Street, Dickson on Saturday, February 27. The suspects shown in the images were in a group of three who were refused travel by a 56-year-old male taxi driver due to their level of intoxication and aggression.

In the 8 January 2010 edition of the Canberra Times, journalist Susannah Metherell has written a somewhat humourous article about a noisy koel that is keeping residents of Dooring Street awake at night. Invitation to comment: Proposed Wetlands – Dickson and Lyneham (closing 6 Janurary 2010)

The ACT Department of the Environment, Climate Change, Energy and Water are soliciting public comment on the proposed Dickson and Lyneham Wetlands Project. The Canberra Integrated Urban Waterways team are working with consultants to design the proposed Dickson and Lyneham wetlands. As well as providing water quality improvements and increased urban aquatic habitat, these water features will supply stormwater to irrigate playing fields in Canberra’s inner north.

Crimestoppers: Witnesses sought to Dickson robbery (17 November 2009)

ACT Policing is investigating and seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery which occurred last night (November 17) in Badham Street, Dickson. About 7.51pm yesterday (Tuesday, November 17) a man has entered the Swan Asian Grocery store demanding staff hand over money from the cash register. During the incident the male offender has threatened staff by producing a syringe.

ACTION Buses, every 15 minutes – REDEX Trial services commences 16 November 2009

The ACT Government’s trial of a new, high frequency weekday bus service, REDEX, commences Monday 16 November. REDEX buses run every 15 minutes from 7.00am and 7.00pm between the Gungahlin Market Place and Canberra Railway Station in Kingston, via Mitchell, Northbourne Avenue, the City, Russell and Barton. All REDEX buses are low-emission, wheelchair accessible and provide bike racks and on-bus information screens. Travel on REDEX buses is free for the first week between 9.00am and 4.30pm to encourage commuters to use the service in off-peak periods.
