'Raw' Landscape Architecture Exhibition at University of Canberra (13, 14 & 16 November 2009)

The exhibition ‘Raw’ will display the final projects of graduating University of Canberra landscape architecture students. There will be twenty three projects in the exhibition which examine the Eastern Broadacre of Canberra and the possibilities that exist there for the future. The Eastern Broadacre is part of the valley which exists between the Federal Highway through to Hume. This exhibition provides Canberrans with an opportunity to view diverse ideas and applications which have been created by the students. The Monster That Ate Constitution Avenue

Campbell’s sleepy streets are about to be consumed by ASIO’s monster new headquarters, destroying views, eating trees, creating new parking tangles, gobbling up open space and imposing a regime of security guards and barricades along the lakefront boundary. Consultation: Review of the Arts in Canberra (until March 2010)

Funding was provided in the 2008-09 Budget for a review of the arts in Canberra as Arts Canberra, the ACT Government’s current action statement for the arts, expired at the end of 2008. The review will be conducted by independent consultants Peter Loxton and Associates Pty Ltd and will include research into best-practice arts policy from around Australia and overseas, as well as working with the local ACT arts community to look at the success of the current policy and its implementation to date.
