The following notification was received by the North Canberra Community Council:

Proposed fit-out of new leased premises for the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency at the New Acton Nishi building, Edinburgh Avenue, Canberra City, ACT

The above proposal has been referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works for consideration and report to the Commonwealth Parliament. The Committee is required by the Public Works Committee Act 1969 to report to Parliament on the need for each work, if the proposed work will adequately satisfy the need, if the estimated cost of the work can be justified and the amount of revenue, if any, the work will generate for the Commonwealth.

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a series of incidents around Acton and the Australian National University campus last night (Thursday, February 18) and early this morning (Friday, February 19) in which a group of men damaged and broke into vehicles, and committed several assaults.

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery and assault which occurred in Acton early today (Friday, January 29).

Around 5am, the 22-year-old man was assaulted in Childers Street by another man. The victim was struck and kicked several times, causing swelling and lacerations to his face. His wallet and contents as well as his passport were stolen.
