Noise Complaints Survey

Inquiry into Live Community Events

The Standing Committee on Planning, Public Works and Territory and Municipal Services invites further community comments to its inquiry into Live Community Events, looking at issues around supporting live music and events in our community.

As part of its inquiry, the Committee is interested in how noise complaints are handled in the ACT and would like to hear from individuals, business owners, lessees and/or building owners who have lodged a noise complaint to a relevant authority in relating to music or patron noise from a live events venue.

The Committee has prepared a short survey which asks a series of questions about individuals’ experiences with the noise complaints process. The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete and is accessible at the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/noisecomplaints

Any information gathered will be stored and analysed in a format that will not allow attribution to any one individual or organisation.

Further information can be obtained from the Committee Chair, Ms Mary Porter AM MLA on (02) 6205 0100, O414 480 440 or the a/g Committee Secretary, Ms Margie Morrison, on (02) 6205 0136 or by email at: committees@act.gov.au.
